next book of this illustrator and publishing house ;-) for me - really great, book published in 1969, I love this a little old- fashioned illustrations so much, especially this lovely one with vacuum cleaner and ironing board – what's a leg ;-)

Wczoraj naprawdę poczułam, że to już koniec lata. Pierwszy raz napaliliśmy w kominku, pierwszy raz zrobiłam swoją jesienno-zimową zupę. Była pyszna i bardzo rozgrzewająca. Jesień i zima to czas kiedy do naszej kuchni wpraszają się: soczewica (najczęściej czerwona), ciecierzyca, kasza gryczana, duże ilości imbiru, kuminu rzymskiego i orzechów. Wpraszają się i panoszą bez litości. W różnych konfiguracjach i układach, z mleczkiem kokosowym, krewetkami, marcheweczką, selerem, porem, chlebkiem. olejem sezamowym.... To takie potrawy na chłody. Wczoraj do zupy wskoczyły:

marchewka, pietruszka, ciecierzyca (nie biorę z puszki bo jest dla mnie zbyt wodnista tylko namaczam i gotuje), liść selera (dużo), por, ziemniaczki (malutkie i kilka - bo niedługo wyjazd w tropiki), dużo imbiru (wczoraj mielony ale uwielbiam też świeży i jeśli mam to taki wolę), kurkuma, kumin, sól, pieprz a na koniec płatki migdałów. Polecam dla wszystkich zmarźluchów (jak to się pisze?). A jakie są Wasze zimowe potrawy?

a kto jest kim w Curiosity dowiecie się zaglądając tu, nie mogłam oprzec się pokusie umieszczenia tutaj tych słodkich, rysunkowych główek ekipy, ach gdzie nasi ważni pracownicy na eleganckich fotkach zakładowych w odświętnych ubraniach ;-)

Chic Rainy Day

Rain and chic are two words that are not usually found in the same sentence unless one dares to wear a pencil skirt and high heels to go out and face this showery, showery day.

Oh well, at least I can always have my espresso.

As of Yesterday

Yesterday I had the pleasure to be a part of "What's New/What's Next" and had a great time. I was kindly invited by Elle Decor to attend a presentation of their new online 'Designer's Registry', which "is an online community and interactive database that connects design professionals with potential clients worldwide." Next, I went to Sanford Hall, the showroom I was assigned, which has a great selection of wall to wall carpets and area rugs. Among the newest rugs, below are a few images of my favorites. These 100% wool area rugs are made in India and/or Spain. SH is located on the 4th floor of NYDC, Suite 400.

Then I went straight to Ted Boerner New York showroom on the fifth floor, where according to a friend of mine, were the most interesting wallpapers worthy to be seen. And God was she right. Apart from their own selection of classic furniture, they also carry Tracy Kendall's eccentrically cool line of wallpaper. Some of her unique and innovative wallpapers have embellished the walls of such museums as the likes of the Cooper Hewitt in NYC.

The glow reflected by the buttons against the light reminds me somehow of a Moroccan wedding blanket. Below is another really cool one that portrays a post-it wall.

This last wallpaper has huge playful sequins of different colors which also comes in other colors. I wonder how cool this wallpaper would look in a girl's bedroom. As any other design aficionado I had a fantastic time yesterday at the NYDC event, but the most important part of it was to get to meet the people who came and stopped by to say hello. Thank you to those who made my day.

home sweet home...

jeszcze taki jest nasz salon (jak to brzmi poważnie, choć salon to złe określenie, wszak cały parter [oprócz łazienki] to jeden wielki salon a raczej open space ;-) no jak zwał... ale idą zmiany, i to już wkrótce, nie mogę mieć mebli wciąż w tym samym miejscu, zresztą czy im się nie nudzi, tak stoją, stoją wciąż z tą samą perspektywą a raczej z jej brakiem?

a tak – po schodach w górę, po schodach w dół... i moja nomadzia natura trochę jest uspokojona i jeszcze chwilę tu pomieszkamy – ale jak długo? Tyle pięknych miejsc nas kusi...

zajrzyjcie wkrótce jeśli chcecie zobaczyć moje zmiany, no chyba że nie chcecie – to dajcie znać że nudą wieje :-)

our living room now, but it will change very soon,  for me it's time to looking for new, better places for our furnitures,  it must be something wrong with me but I have  so strong desire to changing everything around me all the time, on the other hand, I suppose it must be very boring for example for my old wooden (inherited after my grandmother) table to stay all the time in the same place with the same ordinary view, so as my husband used to say: our furnitures have very interesting and intensive life. One day travelling upstairs, the next day looking for some sunny corner somewhere at the first floor. Anyway, I'll show you some pics from my "new house" soon.

I spend some wonderful days in Kraków, having party with great people. Thank a lot to all of you! I hope we see again! These cute acorns came with me to Warszawa :-)
